Privacy Policy

Design Home and Garden (referred to as 'DHAG', 'we' or 'our') is committed to protecting your privacy. We have put in place policies and procedures to protect personal information we collect about you so as to comply with the UK Data Protection Acts 1984 and 1998. We will not use any information collected from you when you order for any other purpose than processing your order or for any subsequent/ further sales.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

For your security, once payment has been made, credit card details are NOT held by DHI either in hard copy or electronic form. This may prove inconvenient for returning customers however it ensures maximum security of financial details.

We do not send marketing mails

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a 'cookie' which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.


Data Protection

If you choose to complete one of our on-line forms, the personal information you provide will be used by Design Home and Garden to enable us to deal with your requests in the best possible manner. It may also be used to monitor the progress of your enquiry within All Design Home and Garden and to register any subsequent sale of any of the products you have requested. Our purposes for holding personal information and a description of the general categories of parties to whom we may disclose it can be found in the Data Protection Register which is administered by The Information Commissioners Office (www.ICO.gov.uk). You should note that we do not supply any information about you to anyone unless we believe it is lawful to do so, or where you have given your consent in advance. You have the right under the Data Protection Act to request a copy of the personal data, which we hold with reference to you on our computer systems.

Payment

Currently Design Home and Garden accepts most major credit and debit cards - Visa, MasterCard, Switch and Delta - which are authorised at point of purchase or cheques by post. Debit/Credit cards are only charged once we have confirmed your order. DHI also offers Paypal as alternative means of making payment. All Paypal payments and credit debit card payments are processed through Paypal's secure payment portal.
Warranties

All products come with manufacturer's domestic warranty of between 6 months and 12 years as detailed in accompanying literature. In the unlikely event that your purchase develops a fault within the warranty period, Design Home and Garden will refer you to the relevant manufacturer and the resolution will be as stipulated within the terms of the manufacturers warranty. In the event of a claim under warranty, cover is for replacement parts only and Labour charges are the responsibility of the customer. Return postage costs & packaging are the responsibility of the customer. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. PLEASE NOTE: Where an item has been used for commercial purposes this will invalidate any claim under a domestic warranty. Commercial warranty products sold for hire carry a 90-day warranty. Neither Design Home and Garden nor the manufacturer can be held liable for fair wear and tear or misuse of the goods. In all circumstances, All About The Home Ltd will not be liable for any additional costs incurred whilst goods are away for warranty repairs - this includes rental or hire charges for equipment from a third party and shipping.

Returns Policy

Return of all Items
We accept the return of items only if they are unopened and in their original condition. To return an item to us you must contact us within 7 days of their delivery to inform us of your intention to do so. All returns must be arranged through Customer Service, who will issue you with a returns authorisation number. If you return goods, as detailed, within 21 days of delivery to you, we will issue a refund to you for the price you paid for the item less the cost of transporting the goods to you and less any other charges we have incurred in fulfilling your order. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. Items returned, at your expense, are still your responsibility while they are in transit.
Goods returned which have been damaged or used will not be accepted and the customer will be informed accordingly to arrange collection.
* Any free gifts supplied with the item must be returned with any at the same time. Items not returned will be charged at their full retail value and will be deducted from any refund


Faulty or damaged items

Items damaged in transit can be returned. Please ensure that you have sign for the consignment as damaged or unchecked and notify Customer Services within 24 hours of receipt . A Faulty item can be returned at any time during its warranty period. Please ensure items are suitably packed. Items delivered on a pallet will need to be palletized when collected. Return packaging is the responsibility of the customer. Where collection is arranged by Design Home and Garden, the responsibility for making goods available for collection remains with the customer. We will endeavour to notify of the day of collection, however we cannot guarantee a specific time. Where collection has been arranged and fails due to the goods not being made available the cost of the aborted collection will be deducted from any refund given.

Please note that we only accept returns of items that have been opened if they are defective. In the case of a defective product, when returning an item please provide a full description of the fault and return the defective item to us in its original packaging together with all warranty documents, manuals and accessories. For your protection we would recommend that you use a Recorded Delivery Service. Our Returns Policy does not affect your Statutory Rights. Items which have are found to be free of defect will be subject to our standard returns policy above and may be subject to deductions referred to therein if applicable. All items being returned must be correctly packed to prevent any damage. Goods received which have sustained damage during their return will be returned with the appropriate repair carried out.  In these circumstances a replacement item will not be sent

Cancelling an Item

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations you have the right to cancel the Contract for the purchase of any item within 7 working days of delivery. This applies to all of our products. To cancel the Contract please package the relevant item securely and mark the package 'Contract Cancellation' and send it to us so that we receive it within 7 working days of the date that the item was delivered to you. The return address is our normal business address, which is Design Home and Garden, Unit 28 Big Trade Park, Stanley Green Industrial Estate. Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire SK8 6PT.

FREE GIFTS - If a free gift has been provided then it must be returned with item in any of the situations detailed above. If the free item is not returned the full retail value will be deducted from any refund given.
